Burnett State College is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) qualified for the delivery of vocational courses through the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) as delegate for Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA). National Provider No. 31050

Vocational Education and Training (VET) subjects do not contribute to an OP but can provide students with a Tertiary Rank, a vocational certificate and points towards their Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE).

Certificates of Completion will be awarded to students who are competent in all aspects of the qualification. They will also receive a Statement of Attainment listing all completed competencies which fill the requirements of the course.

Certificate II in Rural Operations

Other pathways of Vocational Education and Training

Apart from the qualifications delivered through the Trainers and Assessors of Burnett State College our students also have the options of TAFE courses through an external provider or School-based Traineeships of Apprenticeships.

TAFE courses

If you are interested in enrolling in a TAFE course then Burnett State College will support students enrolling in TAFE or other schools programs. TAFE courses are usually completed in Year 11 and 12 and information is available through the Head of Senior Schooling.

School-based Traineeships and Apprenticeships

Many students begin their future careers by completing School-based Apprenticeships or Traineeships (SAT) while in school. Available courses are advertised in school notices. If students are interested in a SAT’s they should contact the Head of Senior Schooling.

Burnett State College guarantees that once training has commenced the school will ensure the student will have access to complete their course as long as the student meets all of the course requirements. If the school relinquishes registration for the qualification it is the school's responsibility to ensure the student has options to complete the qualification with another RTO. If that occurs students will need to pay any costs incurred. If a key staff member leaves the school and a replacement cannot be found the school will ensure the qualification is continued through other means. Students/parents will be informed in writing if one of these situations occurs.

For more information please contact the Head of Senior Schooling.
